It just so happens that I have some exciting news on this subject... I just booked my plane tickets to go back to Chile after Christmas! 😃
I'll be there for a couple of weeks and plan to pack a lot in. It'll be during my Christmas holidays and my boyfriend's summer holidays, so we'll be able to do some travelling together. Our idea is to go to the Atacama desert, which is really exciting, because I never managed to visit the north of the country during my semester there.
Other places I want to visit are Reñaca (for the beach), Sewell (a former mining town) and Cajón del Maipo (a canyon near Santiago). I'm looking forward to having a good look through my guidebook when I'm home from university in a couple of weeks' time to get even more ideas!
It will also be great to be back in Santiago again with my boyfriend, seeing all the places I used to see in my everyday life. I was really happy there, and although I feel like I've finally readjusted to being back in the UK, I still miss it.
As for what else is in store for my future travels... well, the answer is not much for the next couple of months. My plan is to get as much work done as possible before Christmas so I won't have too much to do while I'm in Chile. In 2019, I'd like to do a trip or two to places that aren't so far from Nottingham (York and Harrogate and perhaps Cambridge), seeing as I'm only going to be living here until next summer. I'm also interested in going to Amsterdam, as I've never been to the Netherlands before and it seems like there's a lot to see there. After graduation, I really want to spend a week or two doing a volunteer programme helping turtles in Costa Rica (something I was considering doing for my Year Abroad). After that, who knows!
Well, that's about all the news I have for now. This second installment of this blog will most likely appear at some time in January, and I plan to continue writing here pretty much forever. I really enjoyed writing my first blog, and I still look back on it and relive all those old memories. So now it's time to make some new ones!
Bye for now 😊
