It's been a while since I last wrote on this blog, but I'm going to go back to a more regular posting schedule from now on. We moved last month to a bigger place in a quieter area, which has kept us busy, but in a good way! It's made a big difference to our quality of life to be living somewhere that we genuinely like, where we can have the kind of more relaxed lifestyle we've wanted for a while.
However, we've still had time for a few trips out recently, and today I'll be writing about one of them.
A couple of weekends ago, we decided to visit the nearby town of Newbury and were pleasantly surprised by how attractive and peaceful it was, with quaint architecture and the canal running through.
We noticed plenty of cute cafés around the town, which we'd like to check out on future visits. On this occasion, we went to a place I'd read an article about online: the Teashop by the Canal. This little café is very prettily decorated and is in a picturesque location right next to the canal (as the name suggests!). The loose leaf tea was delicious and the Victoria Sponge cake was one of the nicest I've ever had!
In the afternoon, we walked a lot around the town, doing a bit of shopping and exploring different parts of the town, including Victoria Park and some more of the canal.
